Handling Facilities

Infrastructure Overview

GISF Engineering Private Limited is equipped with robust and well-planned material handling facilities, enabling safe, efficient, and seamless movement of heavy and oversized fabricated components across the shop floor and yard. These facilities play a vital role in supporting large-scale fabrication, assembly, and dispatch operations for power, infrastructure, and industrial projects.

DG EOT Cranes

GISF operates a total of 12 numbers of DG EOT (Electric Overhead Travelling) cranes, with individual lifting capacities ranging from 10 MT to 40 MT. These cranes are installed across fabrication and machining bays, providing smooth and controlled material movement with a clear hook height of 9 meters below the girder.

The synchronized use of EOT cranes allows handling of single units weighing up to 120 MT, enabling safe lifting and positioning of heavy beams, girders, and large fabricated assemblies. These cranes ensure precision placement during fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly operations while minimizing manual handling and safety risks.

Hydra Mobile Cranes

In addition to EOT cranes, GISF is equipped with 8 numbers of Hydra Mobile Cranes, with lifting capacities ranging from 8 MT to 14 MT. These mobile cranes offer flexibility for handling operations in open yards, loading and unloading activities, and movement of components between different work zones.

The combination of fixed EOT cranes and mobile Hydra cranes ensures uninterrupted material flow, operational efficiency, and adherence to strict safety standards across all handling activities.

FAQs – Handling Facilities

  • Q1. What is the lifting capacity of the EOT cranes at GISF?

GISF has 12 DG EOT cranes with capacities ranging from 10 MT to 40 MT, and combined handling capability of up to 120 MT for a single unit.

  • Q2. What is the hook clearance available below the EOT crane girder?

The EOT cranes provide a clear space of 9 meters below the girder, suitable for handling tall and heavy structural components.

  • Q3. How do Hydra cranes support fabrication operations?

Hydra Mobile Cranes offer flexibility and mobility for yard handling, loading, unloading, and transferring materials between different areas, especially where overhead cranes are not accessible.
